Working at Height Regulations (WAHR) Examinations in London
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 cover the equipment that keeps people safe off the ground - ladders, harnesses, lanyards, fall arresters - and Regulation 12 requires it to be inspected at suitable intervals by a competent person, on top of the checks the user should make before every use.
We carry out those inspections across London. Our examiners travel in from Reading, work through your access and fall-arrest equipment on site, record it properly, and tell you exactly what's safe to keep using and what has to come out of service.

Work at Height Examinations Across West London
Anywhere people leave the ground, the Work at Height Regulations apply, and West London keeps plenty of people up ladders and in harnesses. We focus the M4 corridor in from Reading.

Heathrow & Hayes
The warehouses and distribution units around Heathrow and Hayes (UB3, UB4, TW6) run mezzanines, racking access and order pickers, where ladders and restraint kit are a daily thing.
Park Royal & West London
Construction, fit-out and roofing across Park Royal and the wider West London sites (NW10, W3) lean hardest on fall-arrest harnesses and the anchors that hold them.
Uxbridge & Hillingdon
And the facilities and maintenance teams out through Uxbridge and Hillingdon (UB8, UB10) - offices, schools, retail and trade units - live on step ladders and access equipment that quietly wears out. Wherever you are, we come to you.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should work-at-height equipment be inspected?
WAHR sets no fixed interval - Regulation 12 calls for inspection at suitable intervals decided by a risk assessment, plus the user's check before each use and an inspection after any exceptional event. For fall-arrest PPE the accepted standard is a detailed inspection by a competent person at least every six months, dropping to three in arduous use. Ladders run to a risk-based schedule.
Is a formal inspection the same as a pre-use check?
No. The pre-use check is the quick look the user gives kit before they rely on it. The formal inspection is the detailed, recorded examination by a competent person at set intervals. WAHR expects both - one doesn't replace the other.
Can a failed harness be repaired?
Generally no. Fall-arrest harnesses and lanyards are not user-repairable - if an inspection finds a defect that affects its integrity, the item is condemned and taken out of service. That's exactly what the inspection is there to catch before it's trusted with someone's weight.
Do I legally need work-at-height inspections?
If your people use ladders, harnesses or other access and fall-arrest equipment at work, yes - WAHR places the duty on you to have it inspected by a competent person at suitable intervals. The inspection record is what proves it.
