Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) Examinations in London
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) require lifting equipment to be fit for purpose, clearly marked and thoroughly examined at set intervals by a competent person. If your business owns, operates or controls lifting equipment in London, that's your legal responsibility - and ours to take off your hands.
Nexus Examination Ltd carries out LOLER thorough examinations right across London. Our Engineer Surveyors travel in from Reading to your site, examine your equipment, and issue a clear report telling you exactly what's compliant and what needs attention, with minimal disruption to your day.

Lifting Equipment Across West London
London isn't one market, and the lifting kit shifts with the ground. We work the western corridor hardest, straight up the M4 from our Reading base.

Heathrow & Hayes
Around Heathrow and the Bath Road industrial belt (UB3, UB4, TW6) it's airport logistics and cargo handling - forklifts, MEWPs and loading-bay equipment running flat out through the freight sheds and warehousing that ring the airport.
Park Royal & West London
Park Royal (NW10, W3), the largest industrial estate in London, is dense with food manufacturing and production lines, so it's overhead lifting, gantry hoists and order-picker access we're called to across its units.
Uxbridge & Hillingdon
Out toward the M25 through Uxbridge and Hillingdon (UB8, UB10) the mix turns to trade counters, workshops and vehicle work - vehicle lifts, workshop hoists and MOT-bay ramps. Wherever you are in the capital, we come to you.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How often do I need a LOLER examination?
Every 6 months for equipment used to lift people and for lifting accessories, and every 12 months for all other lifting equipment, or in line with an examination scheme drawn up by a competent person.
What's the difference between LOLER and PUWER?
PUWER covers almost all work equipment, while LOLER applies specifically to lifting equipment and lifting operations. A forklift falls under both - PUWER for the machine, LOLER for its lifting function. Most businesses with lifting kit need both.
Do you cover my part of London?
We cover the whole of London and travel to your site, but we're strongest across the western side of the city - Heathrow, Park Royal, Uxbridge and everywhere along the M4 corridor from Reading in. Get in touch with your postcode and we'll confirm.
Do I legally need a LOLER examination?
If your business owns or controls lifting equipment used at work, yes. LOLER places the duty on you to have it thoroughly examined by a competent person, and an examination report is what proves you've met it.
