Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR) Examinations in London
Compressed air, steam and refrigeration all store energy, and PSSR 2000 exists because that energy can be released suddenly and with force. The regulations turn on a Written Scheme of Examination - a document a competent person draws up (Reg 8) setting out what gets examined, how, and how often - which the system is then examined against (Reg 9).
Nexus handles both halves. We can write the scheme for your system and then carry out the examinations to it, on your London site, so compliance is one job with one provider rather than two.

Pressure System Examinations Across West London
Compressed air is so ordinary that most London businesses forget they're running a pressure system at all - but the compressor and air receiver in the corner of the unit is exactly that, and PSSR applies. We focus the western corridor off the M4 from Reading.

Heathrow & Hayes
The manufacturing and engineering units around Heathrow and Hayes (UB3, UB4, TW6) run compressed air hard - it drives the tools and the lines across the industrial estates that feed the airport.
Park Royal & West London
Park Royal's food producers and cold stores (NW10, W3) add another set of vessels: refrigeration plant and refrigerant receivers that need the same scrutiny as the air systems alongside them.
Uxbridge & Hillingdon
And the garages, MOT bays and workshops from Uxbridge out to the M25 (UB8, UB10) run compressors, receivers and the safety valves and gauges that go with them. Wherever your system sits, we come to you.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How often does a pressure system need examining?
PSSR sets no national interval. The frequency is fixed by your Written Scheme of Examination, which a competent person draws up for the specific system - commonly somewhere between 12 and 48 months depending on the item and its duty, with the external and internal examinations often on different cycles. The scheme is the authority.
What is a Written Scheme of Examination?
It's the document, drawn up by a competent person under Reg 8, that sets out which parts of your pressure system get examined, how, and how often. No valid scheme means no compliant examination - so it comes first. We can write yours and then examine to it.
Do I need a scheme before the system is used?
Yes. A pressure system within scope of PSSR must have a Written Scheme of Examination in place, and have been examined to it, before it's operated. If you haven't got one, that's the first thing we sort.
Do I legally need PSSR examinations?
If you operate a pressure system that stores relevant energy - compressed air, steam or certain refrigeration - then yes, PSSR requires a Written Scheme of Examination and examinations carried out to it by a competent person.
